Although my faith was never very strong while I was young, I knew God was calling me to serve. When missionaries would come to our church to do presentations, I always felt a tug on my heart to pray and to go and help them. I talked with my dad about that and he told me to keep my options open because God was calling me. I remember telling my mom one time that I knew God was calling me into missions but I did not want to go. As I grew up, I pushed this desire out of my heart and mind. I tried to ignore God and hide my real self from other people. When the Epicentre launch event came, my life was turned around 180 degrees. The speaker was talking about knowing that God had a path for you, but that you had been avoiding it. That was what I had been doing for my whole life. I had been running from God and from my youth group. I did not have a relationship with either God or the people in my youth group. That night though, God broke through my wall of resistance and got a hold of my heart completely. I had a total breakdown in front of two girls who previously, I had never really associated with. Through their willingness to comfort me in my most vulnerable moment, one that no one had ever seen before, I started to see them in a new light and I saw God in a new light too. I asked God that night to come, take charge of my life, and lead me down His path, whatever it might be. I did not want to resist Him anymore.

Being a smaller church not able to do a lot, I am very thankful for the Billy Graham Association for making Epicentre available. Epicentre is Biblically based and I would strongly encourage every church to get your youth groups involved. God will send His Spirit filled shock wave thru your group. The lives of several of our students were transformed during the mentoring portion of primal fuel.
